Frontier Art Center gives you several ways to exercise your interests: pottery/painting/fiber arts.
*We have a full-blown Fiber Arts Quarter. With spinning wheels, weaving looms, and more yarn than we can count. Need something special for your next knitting project? How about some beautiful roving to spin?
Weaving and spinning classes will soon be organized for later this spring and fall.
Come to Open Studio at the art center on Friday afternoons, from 1:00 - 5:00, and select some fiber to work with. Take a look at our great inventory. You can have some, and all we ask is that you tell us what fiber you are going to use, what you're going to do with it, and then give us a picture of your creation when you've completed your project.
You can sit and work in the Fiber Arts Quarter, too. Use a spinning wheel or one of the looms. Bring your crochet or knitting project. Bring your own spinning wheel, etc., if you like. Bring your spun yarn to block it. We will need to know what you're interested in and make sure we have one of our folks available to get you set up.
*Also on Fridays, during the Open Studio time (1:00 - 5:00) you can play with clay by hand building functional pieces or creating sculptures, or throwing pots on the wheel. You may need to reserve time on the wheel; we are quite busy in the Pottery Quarter.
We charge $10 per day for Open Studio, and charge for clay and canvases, but not for glaze for your work or the two kiln firings. We also don't charge for paint or use of brushes. (But, you have to clean up your equipment and your space before you leave!)
*We not only have Open Studio time for painting, but hold painting workshops, some for families (snacks and cold drinks) and some for adults only (wine and dinner).
Please contact us if you would like to be on the list for announcements about upcoming classes and workshops and special events. The best way is to write to katemarsh2236@gmail.com.
